Support for New Entries (startups) in Defense-specific Drone sectors

Project objective

Establishment of an innovative growth ecosystem in the drone-specialized defense new industry sector to facilitate market entry and expand participation of outstanding local (prospective) startups in the defense industry, with the goal of global expansion and incubation of small but strong companies with technological competitiveness

Overview
  • Eligibility 

     : Startups located in Daejeon

    • Companies within 7 years of founding that own drone technology or products* applicable in various defense areas and seek or desire to commercialize for military purposes

    Commercialization support
    • Support for business funds required for prototype production, intellectual property acquisition, etc.

    Technical support
    • Establishment of drone-specialized defense environment and reliability testing and evaluation equipment

    • Full waiver of deposit, rent, and management fees during the incubation period

    Startup programs
    • Operation of startup support programs for companies under commercialization support agreements

      • Exhibition participation support : Support for the participation in exhibitions for successful market entry and expansion

        Publicity support : Conducting feature articles for promoting company achievements and startup items

        Accelerating support : Mentoring and mock IR support for enhancing investment attraction capabilities

    User procedure
    • Implementation of support for enhancing startup items for outstanding startups based on the final evaluation results of companies provided with support for commercialization

     : December, 2022 to December, 2026 (approximately 49 months)

     : Total of 5.6 billion won (National funds 5 billion, local funds 600 million) / Defense startup (5 billion) & defense industry entry support (600 million)
